Who I am
I am a lifelong St. Charles County resident and a proud Francis Howell North graduate. Our schools shaped who I am, and I am deeply invested in their long-term success and in the students, families, and educators they serve.
My career has been rooted in service. I began as a bedside labor and delivery nurse and now work as a hospital educator. Health care taught me an important truth: no two people are the same. Every patient requires individualized care, the right resources, and a strong, supported team. Our students are no different. Each child arrives at school with unique needs, and our teachers must be empowered, respected, and adequately supported to help every student succeed.
One of the most urgent challenges facing our district is staff recruitment and retention. Like many nurses, I eventually left bedside care because I was being asked to do more with fewer resources—at the expense of the people I was meant to serve. Educators across our district face similar pressures: growing class sizes, increasing demands, and limited support. When teachers feel stretched and unsupported, they leave—and students pay the price. Retaining experienced educators and attracting high-quality talent must remain a top priority.
Francis Howell also faces significant fiscal challenges. The district has not passed a tax levy since 2004, and limited revenue growth puts us at risk of a fiscal cliff in the coming years. As a board member, I would be committed to transparency, responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars, and honest conversations with our community. The challenge we face is not waste—it is insufficient revenue growth. While past levy efforts have failed, I believe we must work collaboratively and creatively to plan responsibly while protecting students and staff.
I also believe deeply that politics have no place on a school board. Civility, stability, and trust in leadership are essential to student success. When partisan agendas enter school governance, they distract from learning, erode morale, and make it harder to recruit and retain great educators. Our students deserve leadership that is steady, respectful, and relentlessly focused on education.
This is a nonpartisan election, and my goal is simple: to serve students, support educators, and help ensure a strong future for Francis Howell. I would be honored to earn your trust and welcome the opportunity to listen, learn, and share my vision for our district.
